So it’s been about 9 months since I moved out to New Mexico, and in that time I’ve taken over 1,000 pictures but have yet to post any of them. Well, I finally began putting them online, and now you can start to see my journey out here.
2005-06-21 – Solstice Site Near Espanola, NM
This first set of pictures is mainly from up in the mountains that are just west of Española, NM (which is the small town where I live, 30 minutes north of Santa Fe). The Sikh organization out here purchased 1,000+ acres of land up in the mountains to host spiritual gatherings during the Summer Solstice every year. This land was previously owned by the Native American people that lived in this area, and was a place of spiritual gatherings and ceremonies. The pictures you are viewing are from higher up in the mountains looking over the plateau where the spiritual gathering is held (you can see white tents in a couple of the pictures).
