A Taste of the Big City

I flew to Los Angeles last week to spend two days there with my girlfriend. Although two days isn’t enough time to really enjoy a foreign place, it was still nice to be there. This was my second time in LA, so I was already familiar with the city to some extent and I wasn’t dissapointed for not having time to do more. We spent time relaxing with some of her best friends up in the Hollywood Hills (where the sign is), eating delicious food, shopping on Melrose, walking in the ocean and sightseeing at Venice Beach.

One of the best parts about this trip was getting out of small-town EspaƱola, NM where I live. My heart still very much enjoys living in a big city, and often times it feels like we’re living in a bubble here… like we’re in a time capsule that is disconnected from the rest of the world. When I stay here for too long, it starts feeling depressing. So it’s healthy to get out every once in a while and see the rest of the world. Then you get to come back and enjoy all the natural beauty that the New Mexico landscape has to offer.
